TOF basket taps – types A, S, D, M with side or top outlet

2. The different types in detail

Type A – flat fitting (also known as „German flat“ connection)

• Commonly used in Germany, especially for brands such as Bitburger, Warsteiner, Köstritzer, and Früh Kölsch
• Characteristic flat valve enables easy and safe tapping
• Available with top or side outlet, depending on the dispensing system

Type S – Sankey fitting (also known as „Euro fitting“)

• Standard in many European countries and for internationally operating breweries
• Used by brands such as Heineken, Beck’s, Grolsch, and Stella Artois
• Works similarly to type A, but with a slightly different valve system

Type D – Fitting

ATTENTION: A beer shut-off tap is essential for the upper beer outlet D. Alternatively, you will need a flat-sealing nozzle, as there is no tap hole here (see photo).

Type M – Special fitting

• Less common, but used for certain international beers
• e.g. for Veltins Pils
• Special design for breweries with unique KEG systems
• Ideal for special KEG fitting requirements
• Available with top or side outlet

3. Special features of the side outlet for bar taps

• Especially for Holsten kegs or comparable systems
• The side beer outlet makes tapping easier in confined bar areas
• Optimal flow rate for an even head
• Lower height requirement compared to tap heads with top outlet
