CO2 lip valve for KEG closures
Suitable for TOF and Micro-Matic KEG models
Not suitable for Hiwi and GDW models
1. Function of the CO2 lip valve
The CO2 lip valve is a special valve component that is installed in KEG closures to control and maintain the CO2 pressure inside the KEG. It ensures that a constant CO2 pressure is maintained during the tapping process to keep the beverage fresh and at the same time prevent the risk of overpressure or underpressure.
A lip valve is specially designed to regulate the flow of CO2 into the keg canister while sealing the outlet of the keg when no pressure is required.
2. Compatibility
suitable for KEG closures of the TOF and Micro-Matic models
most KEG closures of these models have two CO2 lip valves to ensure even pressure distribution.
not suitable for KEG models from Hiwi and GDW.
3. Design and function
The CO2 lip valve is made of robust PVC or rubber and is integrated into the gas connection of the KEG closure. It works with a lip design that ensures that CO2 can flow in when needed and that the valve closes again when there is excess pressure.
pressure regulation: The valve opens when the pressure in the KEG falls below a certain value and allows CO2 to flow in.
Secure closure: If the preset pressure is exceeded, the valve closes automatically to prevent CO2 from escaping.
Permanent seal: When no CO2 is required, the valve remains sealed and prevents unnecessary escape of the gas.
4. Advantages of the CO2 lip valve
efficient pressure control: Ensures a consistent pressure supply for optimum beverage freshness.
Safe operation: Prevents overpressure and underpressure, keeping the beverage and CO2 concentration stable.
reliability: The valve offers a durable solution for keg systems and ensures consistent performance.
hygienic and easy to clean: The simple design allows for quick and effective cleaning of the valve.
double safety: Many models have two valves, which increases the efficiency and safety of the system.
5. Application and installation
step 1: Remove the gas connection from the KEG cap.
step 2: Place the CO2 lip valve in the designated gas connection area of the cap.
step 3: Make sure that the valve is correctly aligned and securely fixed so that it works properly.
step 4: Once the valve is installed, reconnect the gas connection and check the pressure.
important: Do not use CO2 lip valves in Hiwi or GDW KEG systems as they are not compatible.
6. Cleaning and maintenance
regular inspection: Check the CO2 lip valves for deposits or wear.
cleaning: Rinse the valve regularly with warm water and a mild detergent to prevent residue and deposits.
replacement in case of defect: If the valve is damaged or does not seal properly, it should be replaced immediately.
