Area of application and function

The Y-piece is used for cleaning pipes in the cellar – i.e. at the point where the beer lines are led out of the kegs or keg connections. During the cleaning phase, cleaning hoses or cleaning devices are connected instead of the kegs. The Y-piece allows three pipes to be connected to each other so that they can be flushed through at the same time.

This not only saves working time, but also reduces the consumption of cleaning agents and water, as only one cleaning source is required to serve several lines.

Connections and compatibility

The Y-piece has the following connection options:

• 2 × 5/8″ external thread: These two rigid threaded connections allow connection to two beverage lines or cleaning hoses.

• 1 × 5/8″ union nut: The movable union nut allows a flexible and secure connection to a matching counterpart – usually a double threaded nipple or a cleaning hose with a 5/8″ external thread.

These connection sizes correspond to the standard dimensions for beverage line technology and are compatible with most cleaning components, couplings, and hoses on the market.

Use with accessories

Additional accessories are required for the Y-piece to function (not included in the scope of delivery):

• Double wind nipple: Serves as a connecting element between the Y-piece and the cleaning unit.

• Cleaning hose: Can be used to extend and flexibly guide the cleaning agent.

With these elements, the Y-piece can be integrated into individual cleaning systems – either mobile with flushing units or permanently installed in the pipe system.
